Tuesday

So this morning...

I woke up super early (earlier than I had planned) with a song stuck in my head that I haven't heard in I don't know how long. It was a worship song that went something along the lines of, "You are the King of Kings, You are the Lord of Lords, You are Savior, Omnipotent, You reeeiiiggnn". Then the song goes on to speak of His incredible love and mercy for us and the peace that it gives us. (So of course waking up to this in your head would give you a sense of peace for the day ahead!)Anyway, at this point I figure-I'm up, I should work out a little a have some devotional time. So I'm laying on the floor doing some ab work and Jesus Calling catches my eye. I immediately stopped what I was doing and started reading today's entry...

"I speak to you from the depths of your being. Hear Me  saying soothing words of Peace, assuring you of My Love. Do not listen to voices of accusation, for they are not from Me. I speak to you in love-tones, lifting you up. My Spirit convicts cleanly, without crushing words of shame. Let the Spirit take charge of your mind, combing out tangles of deception. Be transformed by the truth that I live within you..."

Needless to say, today was a great day :).

Worshiping

"I choose to come, I choose to gaze and hear your voice.
You're beautiful, you're beautiful, oh my Lord."

"Therefore, brothers, since we have boldness to enter the sanctuary through the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that He has inaugurated for us, through the curtain that is, His flesh; and since we have a great high priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed in pure water. Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us be concerned about one another in order to promote love and good works, not staying away from our meetings as some habitually do, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day drawing near." (Hebrews 10:19-25)

What great Love. We choose to love Him because He first loved us. So much so that He washed us clean. We once were evil-conscienced and impure in body and spirit in the eyes of God, but Jesus, the Son of the KING of KINGS became flesh, dwelled with men, washed their feet, suffered a harsh death, and rose again all for the sake of His LOVED ones. Praise the LORD! Now, because Jesus gave it all, GOD Himself, the Holiest of Holies, sees Jesus before us, not our sin. Our Father is a faithful and loving God. He made us to dwell with Him for eternity. We were made to be with Him, to be near Him. In the most glorious, beautiful place. We were created with an unquenchable thirst, no earthly pleasure can satisfy. We were made with a longing for eternity, it was written on our hearts. We were MADE for ETERNITY! Not this temporary world. He has promised us this eternity, and He will be faithful! One day we will see the GLORY of the Lord, we'll walk with Him there on the New Earth. I can't wait. The promises I'm reading about are filling and overflowing my heart.

As I'm writing this, I'm listening to the Prayer Room and reading. The Spirit is just filling me with so much! So, if reading this is all over the place, I apologize! :)

Still so excited...

Still so excited...

I must also post about my latest (and one of the greatest) excitements.

Saturday night during a (very delicious Mauricio's) dinner with my Mom and Rick, we began to discuss my graduation, what time I would have off work. etc. This conversation led to the huge awesome bomb that Rick would drop on me...

First of all, if you know me even just casually-you know that I am slightly obsessed with all things Europe. I dream of walking the streets of Paris at night, visiting all those incredible museums, laying my eyes on all the beautifully historic sites (as I'm sure many others do).

And then it was dropped. That awesome bomb I was talking about... Rick asked if I would be interested in a trip to EUROPE with them this summer. I was incredibly close to doing a dance on the table. I contained my excitement for a moment, answered "YES?!" in my squeakiest voice, and began my questioning. "Where will we be going?!" "When can we go?!"
They informed me that we will be going to London, PARIS, and ending the trip in Barcelona. I could almost smell the croissants.

I can't even begin to explain my excitement. It's all truly a huge, HUGE blessing, and even though it may be a very earthly desire of mine, my God knows my heart and is fulfilling one of my dreams. Maybe it's to get this wanderlust out of my mind to clear it for His bigger, better plan for me!

Wednesday

Today is a day the Lord has made...

This morning is one filled with the radiant beauty that can come only as a gift from God! Snow on the ground, coffee in my hand, and worship music from the ihopkc prayer room in my ears. My heart is full and grateful.

Lately it has been a struggle for me to devote my time to the Lord. I know that I should never be too busy or have other, more important things to do. It's really just a matter of laziness...and frankly, it HAS to go.

I'm praying for intercession in my own heart, that God would just open my heart to His word. That He would establish His place in my mind, heart, and soul more boldly than ever. That He would help me to set my mind on things above. I KNOW that He is working in my life every. single. day. Where is my thankfulness? For blessings, for struggles that give me an opportunity to lean on Him. I know He will light this fire in my heart again, giving me a fresh love and faith in Him.

"But because He remains forever, He holds His priesthood permanently. Therefore He is always able to save those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede for them." Hebrews 7:24-25

Thankful for His beauty, grace, and unchanging love for his children.
